Cushion refills: match the case, range and shade

Avoid buying a refill that looks familiar but is not designed for your compact.

Match the case before comparing prices

A cushion refill is a replacement component, not necessarily a complete compact. Start with the full name of the case you own and compare it with the refill’s stated compatibility. A similar diameter or a matching brand logo does not establish that the insert will lock into place.

Check the product range and version as well as the brand. Packaging can change between collections, and a refill for one series may not fit another. If the listing does not name the compatible compact, ask using photos of the case label and the exact refill link.

Confirm the contents of the option

A set may include a case, an installed refill, an extra refill and one or more puffs. Another option may contain only the sealed replacement. List the components before calculating value. The lowest displayed price can belong to the smallest configuration.

Shade names and numbers also need to match the intended formula. A number reused in another range does not guarantee the same color or finish. Compare the exact line and shade description rather than copying a number alone.

Keep the refill instructions

Read how to remove the old insert and install the new one. Do not force a component that does not fit, and do not pour another foundation into the cushion to imitate a refill. Use the replacement system as designed.

A useful order note contains four items: case model, refill range, shade and included accessories. This makes both a price comparison and a support question much clearer than “the standard cushion refill.”
