THE CAST

K-Beauty brand groups, brands and product lines explained

Distinguish a corporate group from a consumer brand and a product range so that a company announcement leads you to the right Korean beauty item.

A company group, a beauty brand and a product line are three different levels of identity. A group can discuss several brands in one strategy announcement, while a shopper needs the exact product and option. Mapping those levels makes K-Beauty news easier to follow.

Read the name at each level

Amorepacific’s September 2026 Investor Day announcement discusses AESTURA, ILLIYOON, IOPE and several hair-care brands within one growth strategy. That provides a concrete example of a corporate portfolio. It does not turn the brands into interchangeable products or make one brand’s launch date apply to the others.

Build a simple identity chain

Use four fields in a shopping note: company or group, consumer brand, product range, and exact item. Add size and shade when relevant. If a headline names only the group, follow its source to find which brand is involved. If it names a range, open the product listing to see which individual items are actually offered.

Check the market as well as the name

A strategy can mention different countries and future dates for different brands. Keep the country and time attached to each statement. When asking THE CAST about an item, send the exact listing or full product name, rather than the parent-company headline. That narrows the question to an identifiable product and helps avoid confusing a future plan with current availability.
