27 October 2026 — Amorepacific received a presidential commendation on 23 October at the 2026 Renewable Energy Day ceremony, The Herald Business reported on 26 October. According to the report, Amorepacific was the only organisation among the four recipients of a presidential commendation. The ceremony, hosted by the Ministry of Climate, Energy and Environment, was the first official government event since Renewable Energy Day became a statutory commemorative day.
Background reported by the company
The report says Amorepacific joined RE100 in 2021, the first Korean beauty company to do so, and raised the share of renewable electricity at its sites from about 5 percent in 2020 to 100 percent in 2025. It combines on-site solar generation, direct and virtual power purchase agreements, green premium contracts and renewable energy certificates, with on-site generation covering roughly 10 percent of its electricity use.
THE CAST shopping perspective
A corporate energy milestone applies to a company's facilities and electricity purchasing. It is not a lifecycle claim about an individual cosmetic, its packaging or how it is shipped. When a product carries an environmental claim, check what the claim covers and who verified it, as described in our guides to beauty claims and packaging.
