Understanding EMS shipping costs for a small beauty parcel
Understand packed weight, reference fee bands and the conditions for considering DHL or UPS alongside standard EMS shipping.
The parcel weighs more than the labeled contents
A bottle’s labeled contents are not the same as the packed shipping weight. The container, outer box, protective materials and the other items in the order can contribute to the parcel. A 100 ml label is a volume statement, not a promise that the finished parcel weighs 100 g.
Use the shipping information in the order flow to obtain the relevant quote. THE CAST’s public shipping guide provides destination-specific EMS reference bands to help explain the calculation; it does not replace the final checkout amount for a particular basket.
Read a weight band as an interval
Find the destination first, then the interval containing the packed weight. When a parcel moves across a band boundary, the fee may change even if only one small item was added. Comparing two baskets at the same assumed weight can therefore be misleading.
The reference-rate table shows its weight ranges and fees together. If a complete schedule cannot be loaded, use the checkout or ask for clarification; do not interpret a missing number as free shipping.
Compare the same delivery task
THE CAST uses Korea Post EMS as the standard basis for small personal international orders. Confirmed DHL and UPS services can be compared with EMS for the same parcel and destination. Checkout defaults to the lowest available shipping cost, including any EMS combined-shipping deduction, while customers can choose another confirmed service.
A useful comparison includes the same products, destination, packed weight and dimensions. Check fuel, remote-area, handling and any carrier-specific clearance charges as applicable. A headline quote for a different parcel or service is not a valid saving for your order. An alternative remains subject to confirmation rather than being automatically enabled in checkout.
Keep product cost, delivery and destination charges distinct
Product subtotal and shipping are separate parts of an order comparison. Destination duties or taxes may also be relevant; read the current destination notice and order terms. Do not assume that a carrier quote includes every possible destination charge unless the quote says so.
If you request an alternative-carrier review, provide the product links, quantities and intended destination through customer support. Share detailed address information privately when needed. Wait for the confirmed service and total before deciding.
A quick comparison worksheet
- Basket: exact items, options and quantities.
- Parcel: confirmed packed weight and dimensions when available.
- Route: destination and service availability.
- Price: EMS quote beside the complete alternative quote on the same basis.
- Decision: use only the method and amount confirmed for your order.
