K-Beauty color correctors: read each shade and palette compartment

Compare a color-correcting product with a clear map of shades, finishes, package quantities and intended use.

A color-correcting palette can contain several shades that look similar in a small product image. Before buying, make a simple map of the compartments: which shade is where, how the brand describes its intended use and whether the listing gives individual amounts or only a total.

Do not turn a palette into one shade

Record the full palette name and variant. Two palettes in the same range may share a case while containing different colors. A tutorial for one variant is not a reliable map for another. Use the selected option name and the package image together.

The amount printed on the listing may cover the whole palette. Do not divide it equally between pans unless their individual quantities are supplied. Larger-looking compartments in a photograph are not sufficient evidence of their weights.

Compare application details

Keep the comparison under similar conditions

If you inspect swatches, try to compare the same lighting and application thickness. A screen cannot guarantee a shade match, and a color name is not a promise of a particular result on every skin tone. THE CAST's guide library explains how to read swatch evidence; current product pages provide the actual options offered. Use both to make a focused shortlist, with unresolved shade questions answered before checkout.
