THE CAST

Olive Young or THE CAST? How to choose for your next Korean beauty order

A plain comparison of when a large Korean beauty chain fits your order and when THE CAST, a small curated store, is the better first stop.

Two stores can both sell Korean beauty and still suit different orders. This guide gives the questions we would ask before choosing, and says plainly where each store is the stronger option.

Choose a large chain when

You already know the brand and the product, you care most about the lowest price, or you want to compare dozens of similar items side by side. Olive Young held about 21.5 per cent of South Korean beauty retail in the first half of 2026, according to Personal Care Insights, and that scale is exactly why it is a sensible stop for known names.

Choose THE CAST when

You do not yet have a brand in mind, or the one you want does not appear in a large search grid. THE CAST keeps its range small so that each brand and product page can say what the item is, how it is used and what to check before ordering. Its K-Beauty page groups SOOYA SEOUL and NBPSIS as Korean beauty brands and lists more brands beneath them.

Use both when

You are building a basket with a familiar staple and one new discovery. Buy the staple where the price is best, then add the unfamiliar product from a store that explains it. Splitting orders is normal, so check delivery for each destination separately.
